Gallants in Cambodia II

Dear Friends and Family,

There are many exciting things happening here in Cambodia. We wanted to share two special events with all of you in the United States because this is your ministry as well through your involvement through prayer and support. The picture to the left shows the group of pastors who came together at the beginning of September for the semi-annual pastors meeting and fellowship. These men and women travelled from six different provinces to meet together to discuss the matters of the National Church and to be restored spiritually and mentally through worshipping and fellowshipping together.

We were blessed to be a part of this conference, through preparation of the school, arranging the programming of the conference and being a part of the meetings. We were also blessed to be a part of the installation ceremony for Pastor Hourng Vandy, the new President of the Wesleyan Bible Institute. Here you are seeing the District Board of Administration uniting to pray for the ministry of Pastor Vandy at the WBI.

To see more pictures of this event and the engagement ceremony for Pastor Vandy and Teacher Tess, click here or on the 2009 Gallant Photos link on the right margin.

Thank you again for your interest and your prayers.

God Bless,
Tim, Tiffany and Katie Gallant

Gallants in Cambodia I

Dear Friends and Family,

The Gallant Trio has official arrived in Cambodia!

We are sorry that we have been incommunicado for several weeks, but now that we have set up our house and are getting more into the swing of the ministry here at the WBI and the National Church, we will be able to more regularly update the blog with pictures and stories from the ministry here in Cambodia.

As parents, bringing our daughter to Cambodia made us quite nervous. The changes in weather, time zone, culture all gave us reservations about how Katie would adjust. The first week was hard, but we have been blessed with a great house that stays pretty cool during the hot days, good weather, and help from our staff and students at the school. One of the greatest testimonies that we have is the way that Katie has taken to the Khmer people. She loves our students and the staff. She smiles and is completely content for them to hold her and take her around the school. That is a great comfort to us because it gives us God’s confirmation that His calling to Cambodia remains on our lives, on our family. That calling is what keeps us in Cambodia.

We want to thank you for your continued prayers and support. God’s light is shining here in Cambodia, but there is much work yet to be done and much darkness yet to be illuminated by God’s love. Two things are key: 1. The transforming power of God’s Word in the lives and hands of our pastors on the field and taught at our Bible School. 2. The prayers of the faithful for God’s hand to continue to move here in Cambodia and that we as leaders are sensitive to His leading in all situations, in all conversations, and in all aspects of the service.

Thank you again for your prayers, and remember that you can see more pictures from our first month on the right hand column, following the link 2009 Gallant Photos
