April Update

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We apologize for the long duration of time that has passed since our last update. We want to begin this update with a special explanation of the main ministry opportunity that took place over the past month. All over the world, Christians celebrated Easter, but the Cambodian Christians have yet to understand how Easter is celebrated all over the world. We decided that it was a good time to begin a new tradition in the church. Along with Greg and Resie Fernandez, we planned a Good Friday celebration at our house. In this first picture, you are seeing Tiffany and Channa, one of our Bible School students and the daughter of the National Superintendent, preparing the food for the evening meal.

We had many of the pastors and their families over to our house for the celebration. In the next picture you are seeing Chamroeun going through the line for food. The evening started off with a great meal and great fellowship together with all of our Cambodian brothers and sisters. Sharing in a meal together brought a sense of familiarity between all of us and prepared us to think about the real reason we were meeting together that night.

The final picture is of Tim with Kim Sua who is one of the staff members of the Bible School and his young daughter Hannah. After the meal, we all went upstairs to watch the Passion of the Christ together, hear from Pastor Greg and Pastor Kim San on the meaning of Good Friday, and then we shared in Holy Communion. It was very touching to see tears in the eyes of our brothers and sisters as they took the elements, coming to a new reality of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins. It was a very special night of fellowship and faith, brothers and sisters coming together for the greatest of reasons, to celebrate our unity in the Body of Christ.
