June Update

As we have mentioned before, in many of our e-mails and blogs, our students (who will be the future pastors of this country) are the passion of our ministry here in Cambodia. Our responsibility to these students goes far outside of what the classroom entails, for they watch our lives, reactions to each other, and how hard we are working to learn their language. Every aspect of our lives are being watch and sometimes even mimicked by these future pastors. But not only are our lives being watched, but the lives of every team and pastor that comes to Cambodia to help us teach and minister at the Wesleyan Bible Institute.

During this time of year, we are being blessed by many teams who are venturing over to this side of the world to join in the ministries that are happening here in Cambodia. Pictures from this past 6 weeks have been added to the blog. If you would like to see them, you can Click here or go to the 2007 Pictures Link on the right hand margin of the page.

As any teacher knows, one of the main joys in being a teacher is in seeing your students succeed. We want to PRAISE GOD for all of the pastors and ministry teams that come to minister with us here in Cambodia. And we wanted to share with you the effects of your ministry as we have been encouraging our students to “continue in what [they] have learned and have become convinced of…” (II Timothy 3:14) The following quotes are from our students as they discussed what they learned during these past weeks.

“We need to take the good examples that we are given and make them our own. If we only study our material and ideas at the Bible school and do not put it to practice, we will not learn and we will not be good pastors.”

“Drama, songs and pictures are all effective and easy ways to teach others about the Lord, especially youth and children.”

“We have learned many new games, songs and dances to practice and share with our children and youth that will help them to remember what the Bible teaches.”

“When we teach others about the Lord we need to teach with heart.”

“When we work together, we need to be respectful and untied in what we are doing.”

To all of you who come with short term teams and pour into our students and pastors, helping us to equip them for their ministry here in Cambodia, thank you! And for those of you who are pouring into us, we want you to know that your encouragement and support helps us to thrive here in Cambodia. Thank you, you are much appreciated and needed in this ministry.

Only by His Grace,
Tiffany and Tim Gallant

“…so that the man of God may be equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:17
